Foth is a consulting engineering, science and construction services firm delivering technical solutions for public and private clients around the corner and around the globe. We are currently seeking a self-directed, results-oriented Environmental Technician for our Peoria, IL location.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform field activities in support of environmental investigations, remediation system operations involving water, wastewater and landfill gas under the supervision of a P.E.
Maintain and repair landfill gas and leachate systems; conduct landfill gas system monitoring
Perform basic surveying for landfill and remediation projects
Provide construction quality assurance on environmental projects
Prepare drawings using CAD
Conduct groundwater and other environmental sampling for landfill and remediation sites
Provide observation for soil boring and well installation
Assist with data management and prepare related sampling reports
Maintain sampling program
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills; work independently with limited supervision
Demonstrate strong interpersonal/communication skills
Demonstrate behavior consistent with Foth Basic Principles and Values
Work collaboratively and build effective relationships with others, internally and externally
Communicate effectively across all levels within organization
Maintain a positive attitude
Travel to client sites and/or other Foth offices as required (approximately 50%); valid driver?s license required

Skills Required:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree ? Environmental or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience in a related field
1-3 years of previous related experience
Previous experience with mechanical system maintenance and repair
Previous experience maintaining accurate documentation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous field sampling experience, familiarity with sampling equipment, processes, and maintenance
Previous experience working independently with limited supervision
Experience with pumps, motors and electrical systems
HAZWOPER certification
Experience with database management
Previous CAD experience
Previous survey experience
