Experienced Manufacturing Controls Engineer needed to design and implement advanced control systems for polymer processing equipment. This equipment is manufactured and installed by our client, a global consumer products packaging manufacturer in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

These control systems will allow our client to achieve critical business goals for increasing the level of automation and control of its equipment. This position is focused on equipping existing machinery with retrofits and developing new machinery products with advanced sensor technology and control algorithms. The resulting control systems will improve the level of process control, machine control, and manufacturing system control integration.

Successful execution of this position requires imaginative approaches across a broad spectrum of opportunities and a functional knowledge of the latest control system hardware, software, algorithms, and sensor technology.

The candidate provides leadership in training and developing the skills of the Electrical Field Service Technicians to implement and provide long term troubleshooting support for our manufactured systems. The position requires understanding the interactions between various processes. The Sr. Manufacturing Controls Engineer will receive general direction and will work with management to develop detailed project descriptions, deliverables, goals, and timelines.

The Sr. Manufacturing Controls Engineer will be responsible for his/her own tactical planning, but will also be expected to provide input to strategic planning and develop project proposals.
Work Schedule: 8 hour days, with occasional after hours work. Domestic and international travel, usually 25% or less, is required.

This is a direct-hire, salaried, non-management position. Excellent salary and full benefits; eligible for annual performance bonus.

Skills Required:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering with controls emphasis with 2-5 years related experience;
or an advanced degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering and1-3 years related experience.

Experience with high-speed servo systems, control algorithms, control software, and sensors is required.

Knowledge of polymer processing equipment would be advantageous, but not required.

$60,000 and up depending on experience.
