POSITION PURPOSE:
The Carrier Sales Manager (CSM) is a member of the Wholesale Sales Team that manages the relationship between Bluebird Network (BBN) and its customers in expectation of growing business opportunities. The CSM is responsible for timely quotes and project estimates for use of BBN’s network services to customers. The CSM is responsible for the overall management and growth of designated customer accounts. This position requires a broad understanding of the BBN’s capabilities, customers, relationships, and technologies. This position requires a strong customer focus, strong organizational, project and matrix management skills, and the ability to complete tasks in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Representing BBN to its customer base (farming existing and prospecting potential) in a courteous and professional manner via meetings, telephone calls, and emails;
2. Negotiating the terms of various service agreements and closing sales that meet or exceed BBN’s defined sales objectives;
3. Negotiating variations in price, delivery and specifications with managers;
4. Gathering market and customer information to gain a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements;
5. Representing and promoting BBN at various industry events and tradeshows;
6. Providing input to BBN’s Service Delivery Coordinator to ensure proper documentation and timely completion of orders for customers;
7. Providing support for customer appreciation events and other marketing events;
8. Other tasks as may be needed from time to time;
SPECIALIZED KNOW HOW AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Essential knowledge, training, and understanding of the following:
• Highly motivated, with the ability to act with customer orientation and be attentive and responsive to customer concerns and needs;
• Customer focus and desire to exceed expectations;
• Strong oral and written communications and organizational skills;
• 3 to 5 years in sales-oriented environment;
• Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
Desired Knowledge, training, and understanding of the following:
• Four-Year College/Technical School degree or equivalent experience;
• Five years of Telecommunications experience is a plus;
• Multi-task and maintain composure in a demanding work environment.
• Wholesale telecommunications sales experience a plus
