As a recent graduate of Illinois State University (ISU), with a double major in the School of Art and English Publishing Studies, my combined degrees are tailored toward the publishing field. My work experience ranges from book layout and production to copyright research and permissions clearance. I am a creative and logic-driven individual looking for a challenging career in the field of publishing or related areas.

While working as an undergraduate intern for the Publications Unit at ISU, I honed my skills in proofing, copy editing, page layout, submission formatting, ad production, and other computer-related skills. Also as an undergrad, I created an independent book project, collaborating work from poets and visual artists. This allowed me to gain editorial experience in the publishing field. This included the responsibilities of selecting ideal artists and poets for my project, requesting their participation, explaining the terms and expectations of their contributions to the book, and overseeing the management of deadlines for final submissions. This project also allowed me to gain perspective over the numerous printing methods, binding options, and production costs, as well as a realistic expectation of time management as a whole.

While working as a Research Assistant at Milner Library for ISU's Institutional Repository, ISU ReD: Research and eData, I amassed great knowledge in copyright and permissions policies. The management of eData has bettered my judgment of project priorities and expectations. My technical and professional writing skills have been strengthened by composing the procedure manual for my predecessors, who now assist in the project. My experience in permissions research has taught me how to be a resourceful and creative problem-solver.
