Dan DiOrio has been fired, along with Julia Bradley and Corey (forgot his last name). I'm reading this second hand. I did not listen this morning but supposedly they (who are they?) talked about it. Talk about ******!

Any reason?
I once helped clean a house that he'd been renting in Mossville. He liked to cook. He din't like to clean the stove.

After, what, thirty years, they think he's too old, but they're keeping Greg Batton? He's so much better than Batton! Unbelievable.
Could it be that Dan may be recording from a home type studio as he is a cancer survivor and is just not in the studio with Greg???
Just a few comments…I'm sorry to hear that Dan, Julia and Corey were let go from WMBD. It's never a fun time when anyone loses a job. With that being said: -Radio is not at all a secure job, unless you're nationally syndicated and even then, the job security isn't great.
-When you work in radio, you plan for this day. I'm sure that Dan, Julia and Corey weren't taken off guard. In between jobs in radio is often called, "on the beach".
-Ad revenue (what pays the bills) isn't at all what it used to be. Many other companies, such as iHeart, Connoisseur, Cumulus and others have had layoffs this year, due to "budget cuts".
-Conservative talk radio is interesting, because they are contributing to their demise. They're basically promoting the current administration, which has high gas prices, high food prices, etc. The less people have to spend at businesses usually results in businesses cutting or dropping their advertisements, which results in less money for the radio station. With WMBD, politics aren't as MAGA as they are here in Dallas-Fort Worth and WMBD seems to recieve much better ratings than the top Conservative talk station in DFW, which consistently rates towards the bottom of all radio stations in the area. Also, Midwest Communications seems to keep more local personalities in small markets. In the Quad Cities, iHeart laid off the last of their on-air staff in June. There are no local personalities on their radio stations, which include 1420 WOC, Fox Sports 1230, 103.7 WLLR, Mix 96 and 101.3 KISS FM. Again, sorry to see Dan, Julia and Corey were let go, but sadly, it's just the nature of the beast.Gray boxed for being political and/or controversial in a General Chat discussion.

Greg Batton is a shameless self promoter. He has to have a hand in this somewhere.

The worst part of this is having to tolerate Dr. John in Phil's old afternoon slot. I can't believe Dan's recent injuries didn't play into this, lawyer up Dan. WMBD got a month long test run with Greg and Phil while he was out the first time this spring after falling down the stairs (at work?, I think he said it was their downtown parking deck).
