Peoria Charter Travel 1st time taking a bus trip, for a vacation in October. Kind of a compromise between a week-long road or jet trip, or a 2-night trip since we just spent another 2k on repairs to our Encore. 🙄 Has anyone here ever taken Charter bus trip, whether through Peoria Charter or another company? How were the overnight accommodations, trip overall? Our trip is 4 days/3 nights to Shawnee National Forest, including lunch at Giant City State Park restaurant; Garden of the Gods, Cave-In Rock State Park, ferry across Ohio to an Amish Store, an optional hike in Millstone Bluffs. Staying at a Lodge/Retreat near Golconda called San Damiano.

I always wanted to do that. Riding on a charter bus is much more enjoyable than a common carrier. They always seem to be full of us old farts. Looks like it could be fun.

I've been on charter bus tours but they've only been for a day mainly to Cub Cardinal baseball games. My mother, on the other hand, has been on lots of multi-day trips and she loves them. The places they pick to stay and eat seem to be middle of the road; nothing cheap, nothing high end. I think I've been to all the places you've mentioned in Shawnee; I think you'll have an enjoyable trip.

Have their seen buses many times parked in DC, NYC and Chicago. Sometimes I have chatted with some passengers as they waited to reboard etc. Other times it was the driver. They all had great things to say. They stay at nice hotels and eat at great restaurants. When they served Midway from Peoria, I took them to Midway. We even got there about 20 minutes early.
@DennisinPeoria Sounds like a great trip! Don't forget to give us your review when you return.
