Don't listen to people who say you can't or it's impossible, especially when millions do it every day. Connecting with others, not just in your own neighborhood but in different cities and countries, helps you learn more about them. You discover that some people have given up certain comforts because of the cost, yet even if it came down to living in a cardboard box, they keep going.

Part of *connecting" isn't just talking, it's listening.

Interesting you should say that. One day, go out and greet everyone you see, trying to say hello or hi to as many people as possible. See if they have time or words interested or just keep right on going. Do you know what that is like?

LOL...
How ironic. Assume I don't talk to my neighbors. Assume I have not struggled.
Your posts tell me OODLES about you.

Everyone has struggles, and yours are just like many others who face the same challenges. Is there a way that I can help with your struggles. Neighbor is who!!!! Involves much more than talking.

Each and every person should work on their own struggles and problems within their own circle of friends, and family before reaching out to a stranger on the internet.

I remember when Goodwill felt more focused on helping people learn skills, find jobs, and get back on their feet.
Now, Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana is doing business as Goodwill of Central Illinois, and it feels like the mission has shifted more toward making as much money as possible. Prices keep going up, donated items are priced near retail, and the community feel seems different.
I understand costs and wages have increased, but a lot of us miss when the focus felt more about helping people than maximizing revenue.
