Last week was the USS Gerald R Ford hit by missile fragments or something? Apparently there was a fire and some fairly significant damage from it. 600 sailors lost their beds. www.nytimes.com/2026 /03/16/us/politics/u ss-ford-fire-iran-ve nezuela.html 20:21 GMT US aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, which suffered a massive fire earlier this week, will leave the Red Sea for maintenance at the US base in Crete, the US Naval Institute News has reported. The warship will undergo more than a week of pierside repairs at Naval Support Activity Souda Bay, the outlet cited a senior US official as saying. -- Source: Russia Today

@MadScientist :
I read elsewhere that a fire started in a laundry room, and took 2 hours to put it out. Plus a long time to clean up from damage. Had nothing to do with being attacked. Who knows?

Possibly, fragments from a missile caused the fire. It took 30 hours to put out the fire. 600 soldiers sleep on tables and the floor. Plus, the ships laundry is out of service because of the fire. Very frequent plumbing issues have been a problem for weeks. Before they were sent to the mideast, people thought they were going back to Norfolk as they have been gone 8 months. Now, there is a distinct chance that this will be the longest deployment of an aircraft carrier since Vietnam. New date,subject to change, will be late May to early June, for arrival in Norfolk.
All, this on top of navy reenlistment figures dropping rapidly. That's why Trump is talking about bringing back the draft.
mypeez : ... Expectations are that soon there will be more resignations from there will be more resignations from there. Possibly even Tulsi Gabard.
Word is that the fire was caused by an electrical fault in a dryer vent. Ongoing investigation to determine if was an accident or not.

The more I see, I really don't think Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and our "No New Wars" President had any inkling that Iran would be able to keep firing missiles and drones after the initial attack on February 28. Or that either leader had any plan on what to do when the Strait of Hormuz would be blocked. Plus, Iran is not going to divulge what's happened to their "new" leader. And their people haven't been "freed", something some Conservatives in Social media (not here) is claiming. My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.
I thinkj Bebe played DJT like a fiddle! Tell DJT that he is a great leader who has made great decisions and people around the world love him and then he is in Bebe's pocket.

But Trump claims that we have decimated the Iran army, their drones, and their leaders. You don't think he was misinformed or worse yet...LYING, about that, do you?

@CCubs : Just more of his ill informed lies and braggart behavior!

Someone makes the balls and the dumbest one fires them. Some months ago, solid evidence is that Trump wanted to do something about Iran and Bebe got into the conversation. It seems that he proposed something that totally spooked Trump, Eventually, the talks ended. Months later, after Venezuela, Trump got back on the Iran idea again, Bebe picked up on the idea and stroked Trumps ego and Trump took the bait. Now Trump is in way over his head. It will be Interesting to see if Bebe brings spooky ideas up again. It does seem like there is some fraying around the edges between them, Short version of a longer story,

This is a post the math-deficient WH guy posted today.
Let's see, 47 years ago would have been 1978-1979. Jimmy Carter was President then, and we weren't at war with Iran. They had captured and held over 400 American hostages. But that's not war.
Obama was in high school, funny how he as a student was able to start a war on the side. Biden was a US Senator from Delaware, not a President.
No, this Israel/US WAR on Iran is TOTALLY on YOU, Donald Trump, AND Benjamin Netanyahu, who apparently pulled your puppet strings to help attack. With no actual plan, no end game, and no strategy to keep shipping lanes open at the Strait. My opinion and I'm sticking to it.
