My son Eric who now lives near Richmond, VA, is planning to run in this event next year. He has been enlisting some of his former fellow Farmington High School track team members and a friend or two from his Naval Academy class to join in this race next year. He's been running every week in races out East to prepare.
They'd get more neighborhood and business support if they would leave at least one two way street open in the North Valley and actually take constructive criticism when it's offered from the residents and businesses it impacts.
Monroe was closed off at downtown. I couldn't get through that way. I live on Glendale, couldn't get to East Peoria or into downtown and up Main from 8am - 2pm.
