Oh yes. And emails too. Just this weekend I've gotten a couple dozen claiming to be from Fidelity, but in the email it's spelled.....FiDELitY and using a Gmail account. Surely that's a legit one, but every email is from a different address. LOL

I don't answer the phone unless they're on my contact list for this very reason. I rarely get a message through, so I don't know who or how they're planning to separate me from my money.

Now here's an inside tip for the phone calls....answer it, but same something short like "yep" and then immediately hit the mute and just wait for their autodialer to disconnect. You'll hear the dialer transfer the call to a person or AI bot and after X times of trying with the same dead air response, their system tags you number as a dead line and stops trying. It takes awhile, but eventually you'll notice you get less and less attempts. However, lately I think they've increased "X". LOL

I answer with the question, *Hi, how may I help you?". Think it throws off their AI or robo answering protocol.
I don't answer"hello", because scammers can take your voice, replicate it with AI tech to say you agreed to sign up for services.
Otherwise, if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. Sometimes I get a voicemail, mostly not.
The spam calls I usually get is for Medicare Advantage or some supplemental plan. I lie, tell them their data on my age is wrong, call back in 5 years. Or it's someone trying to help me sell my timeshare. I tell them, I've NEVER owned one, take my name off your list, and tell your 100 buddies in the same call center to do the same. But they usually hang up before I get that out.

I get 5 plus a day. Has been that way for 10 years.

I am. It was going pretty well until recently. Now it's unbelievable. 5 is a good day for me.

The Do Not Call registration is a joke. It doesn't stop anyone from calling.

Only stops legit telemarketers.. it's the scammers that are the problem.

One problem is that the foreign scams calls have gotten extremely sophisticated in recent months. Several months ago there was a couple of scam call operations in Pakistan They were enormous and the US Govt identified precisely where they were The US asked the Pakistan govt to raid them and they did, It was quite extensive and they were shut down. Radio silence for months and months
Now, there is an increase in calls again Except, they seem to be calling France and England too,.
Of particular concerns one from the "Tax Office" and they have found loop holes for a refund and call them immediately . They never call you by name . For them to "find your file" they require your SS number, On the first day of being called, I had calls from the18!times from 18 different numbers in 13 different locations in 3 different countries, I blocked each number and in time they went away, I mow get about about 2 per week, sharing different numbers in Canada, However, there is growing suspicion they all originate in Senegal,
