Artificial insemination question?
While discussing it was said a male is not needed today. More about personal beliefs than scientific fact.

@tntrecycling : Technically, a male is needed to provide the sperm to fertilize an egg. It could be fresh or frozen

I used to do artificial insemination on a hog farm many years ago. Everything from collecting to, inseminating. (Insert jokes here)

That was a long time ago but so maybe I'm missing something but I don't see that happening without the Mr.

Discussion was reproduction of humans. Male and female even seen in animals it takes one of each to continue.
If couples remain male and male or female and female there is no reproduction.

The males don't need to be a part of the equation once the "donation" has been made.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Artificial insemination

Artificial insemination is the deliberate introduction of sperm into the cervix or uterine cavity for the purpose of achieving pregnancy through in vivo fertilization by means other than sexual intercourse. It is a fertility treatment for humans, and is a common practice in animal breeding, including cattle (see frozen bovine semen) and pigs.

Artificial insemination may employ assisted reproductive technology, sperm donation and animal husbandry techniques. Artificial insemination techniques available include intracervical insemination (ICI) and intrauterine insemination (IUI). Where gametes from a third party are used, the procedure may be known as 'assisted insemination'.

@tntrecycling : There is good chance that same sex couples who want children will adopt or use a surrogate. And the life cycle continues.
