Two 25 (in Mark Twain Hotel)Even better than those is Johnnys Italian Steakhouse in East Peoria. The prime rib they serve on weekends is beyond delicious. We didn't even need a knife to cut it.
Definitely a place to consider.

I've never eaten at Blue Duck. What do you like about it?

@JnJ : Blue Duck is good but the wait was terrible the time I went.

That they don't take reservations is a drawback. We went early in tbe week all 3 times and there was no wait especially since we got there when they opened.

The food, we had smoked brisket and pulled pork and it was delicious. The service was very good. The atmosphere in that old building is an extra bonus.

Ok, I know I'm the odd man out concerning Blue Duck. Both times I've been there the service was lacking and the first time one of the orders was wrong. They obviously did nothing to rush to replace it. Fool me once, my bad, fool me twice you won't see me again.
Had some really good lamb chops at Table 19 in the Pere. Wasn't my choice to go there and not on my dime, so..... I'd go back again on my own $$ if I was looking for something upscale downtown.
I used to go to Friday Happy Hour at Two25 to hear Dave Hoffman play. It got to the point that if was impossible to get a drink....at the bar. Haven't been in ages. Maybe service in the dining room is better.
Hey @JnJ Remember why we went to lunch at Bar Louie? The manager of that place now owns Thyme, Sugar, Cayenne, Cracked Pepper. I'm sure @PeoriaIllinoisan remembers that saga!

I've heard Big Al's has good food.

@ChefKevin : Chef I don't remember when we went to Bar Louie but I remember clear as day when we went to Taco Bell. You kept shrinking down in your seat. You were like "I don't want to be caught dead at a Taco Bell". It was so fun.

@conrad : Thank you! Several years ago we used to frequent Sullivan's. Have not been to that location for years.

@pictureme1 : It is pretty much the same, with an expanded menu of good food. Burgers are great!
