Congressman Darin LaHood is on video saying "it's in the best interest of the United States that we quickly end the conflict over there".
He said he's said it publicly, that an exit strategy is needed.

(Can't link the video because I shot it while interviewing him while he was in Princeton with a $2 million check for a mental health facility called Arukah.)
Story will be on the 9 pm WYZZ news and 10 pm WMBD News. But the sound bites will probably be of the Arukah CEO.
I asked him other questions, so it will be up to the reporter to decide when and where to use it.

@mypeez :
I would rather let @Billybob verify this vs Iran saying yes and the WH saying Fake News. But that's only my opinion and no one else.

@DennisinPeoria :
You beat me to it. Over night, after the shooting down of the US jet over Iran, there were all kinds of wild stories online. However no European or US media said a word. This morning the European media started reporting details that DID NOT match up with the wild online stories. Finally, the US acknowledged it happened.
Twelve hours or so later, here we are again As I started to write, no
European media has said a word about the helicopter. Not saying they won't but, for now, time will tell.
I say European media because they are able to get reporters into countries and on tbe ground in places that are horrifically challenging for the US due to the visa issues.

I'm surprised they would fly in there, but then again air defense must be minimal in that area or else the F-35 wouldn't have been operating in that area to begin with. Iran's air defense seems to be rather light, since the fighter before this one was hit but was able to make it back.

The Blackhawk can take a beating. In Blackhawk Down in Somalia, 2 were taken down with rockets and crashed, and 3 more were damaged but were able to return to base.

So far it appears to have been an F-15. 1 of the 2 crew has been rescued. One helicopter was photographed smoking so one was probably damaged. A single pilot A-10 Thunderbolt II was shot down and the pilot left Iranian airspace before ejecting and being rescued.

Video of people or police on the ground shooting at the helicopter:

@MadScientist : It would seem that Iranian shoulder launch missiles are a viable threat. I'm reading that Iran signed a deal in early 2026 with Russia for 2,500 more units, but doesn't identify how many they already had on-hand before the war started.

A video showing a U.S. Navy F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter jet narrowly avoiding an Iranian surface-to-air missile during the "Epic Fury" operation was released on the 26th. This demonstrates that Iran's remaining air defense systems still pose a persistent threat to U.S. forces.

U.S. military media and security analysts assessed that the footage was filmed over the Chabahar Port area near Iran's eastern coast, close to Pakistan. This region has faced intense U.S. airstrikes since the early stages of the war. Its proximity to the sea allows for relatively easier search-and-rescue operations if U.S. fighter pilots need to eject in emergencies.

The F/A-18E/F in the video was flying at very low altitude over hostile territory. This suggests U.S. intelligence agencies have a better understanding of residual air defense threats in this area compared to Iran's inland regions.

The military media outlet TWZ reported that experts identified the approximate coordinates in the video as 25.332214, 60.602761, indicating the fighter was flying near the "Imam Ali" Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval base. The missile that targeted the F/A-18E/F was likely a man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS) launched from the ground.
