I've heard city dwellers don't like AirBnBs as neighbors either. Maybe I should knock on their door and introduce myself.

Well, this is the place.

Follow the chalk drawings through the garden to the 2nd door on the right.

Here we are.

Let's just get out our keys. Sometimes you really have to work these old doors hard to get them to open.

:noisily wrangles with lock and door:

Ooops. Wrong door. Sorry about that, my new neighbor!

Living on top of one another what do you expect. Bottom floor farts all smell it.

@tntrecycling : If you say so. The apartment is quite nice and was cheaper than a hotel room. Not to mention free neighborhood street parking.

I've considered one many times, but always chicken out and go to a hotel.

I'm still one of those hesitant about renting a BNB, Air or not.
If we're on vacation, I don't expect my wife to prepare meals. I'd rather stay at a hotel with good, free breakfasts; a bag with bread, peanut butter, chips, cookies along with an iced cooler with lunch meat, fruit, water/soda; and supper out. That's the system we used when we took the girls to Mt. Rushmore and other places in 2001.
I remember my mom using that system when my sister and I were young, except she also packed milk and small boxes of cereal to pour milk into.

I am not a messy guest... but I have no desire to be my own maid when I am on vacation or travelling.

Years ago, rest areas were along the highway, camp sites were openly available. Today how spoiled we are.

Rest areas are a plus when wife and I are on the road.

But we haven't gone anyplace far away last 2-3 years because of car repair issues that always crop up in September. Starved Rock last year, and a Farm village area (our grandkids would love it) and the Covered Bridge festival in Indiana in '24.

As far as AirBNB, my Springfield daughter's family stayed at one in South Carolina once. They were ok with it.

I promised her a nice vacation this year for our 40th Anniversary, which was actually in 2024. That's life.

@PeoriaIllinoisan :
Unused and landfill-bound items are widely accepted when donated by the community.
