@Tazewell :
Surprised you linked a CNN article. Thought CNN was all fake news?

How is this guy? Constitution says you have to be 35 or older to be POTUS.

mypeez : Perhaps you're not familiar with the reason cases are plead?

@Muskie : I am, which why I raised it as an issue. To argue that the Public Defender and State's Attorney have the defendant's or the peoples' absolute best possible interest / outcome at hand is contrary to what plays out every Monday at your County Courthouse. PDs are working off limited dollars, budgeted and paid from same the County that employs the SA's office. Both the SA and PD are willing to make a quick deal unless there are extenuating circumstances. The current legal system regarding DUIs, shoplifting, personal bankruptcies, … is triage at best.

We could / should start a whole separate topic for this discussion / rant.

They may make the deals, but ultimately it is the defendant who chooses whether or not to accept it.

Surprised you linked a CNN article.

@DennisinMH : Why?

Thought CNN was all fake news?

When did I ever say that?

You really need to change the record, Dennis. This whole "fake news" "GOP" "Faux News" schtick is getting old.

Democracy needs a free press and for people to have trust in the press.

Someone who is attempting to undermine the integrity of the free press and the integrity of US law enforcement is not fit to be leader of a democracy.

@Tazewell : I am talking about any president.

Of course, Fox news themselves undermines the public trust of the press.

@Muskie : Statistically Fox spreads significantly more false information on their shows than other news/politics programs.

Statistically Fox spreads significantly more false information on their shows than other news/politics programs.

That link is from 4 years ago. You don't think in the age of TDS that those networks have not become more biased in their reporting? In addition, I have read enough Politifact to know that they are not exactly unbiased themselves.

they are certainly not alone in that endeavor

@Muskie : Not to mention the fact that if you add CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, and CBS together, the bias from Fox News looks much less significant. One network that is Right leaning vs. 5 that are Left leaning. Sounds fair.

Why is it that conservatives think every news network has a liberal bias?

I suppose if one lives in a world not supported by fact, the news may appear that way?

Facts tend to have a liberal bias.

@Tazewell : her entire premise was to obfuscate the truth by making a binary (true/false) allegation (i.e. Fox News undermines the public trust of the press) and then when it's challenged turn it into a quantifiable variable (well, Fox News does it MORE!)

The next comment was even worse. If one believes there is a liberal bias in the news, they live in a world devoid of facts. If one believes there is a conservative bias in Fox News, they are correct.

I've lost count of the fallacies employed in those two posts.

@joepyeweed : I don't know, maybe because they all do have a Liberal bias?
