The Madison Theatre

Haven't heard anything for quite a while. Is the dream over? With the Scottish Rite (if/when someone buys it) and the new riverfront amphitheater, is there enough business to support it?

Speaking of, what's the status on the amphitheater? I haven't heard any news lately. When's it supposed to be built? The rest of the riverfront plans? Is it just me or do things move like molasses around here?

@PeoriaIllinoisan :
Isn't it amazing that our local government wants to bail out the twin towers and bent over backwards for the Pere and Big Als but doesn't want to help revive the Madison.
I'd ask the question about the support thing, too. The Castle in Bloomington use to have tons of shows; I'd be over there at least 4 times a year. I haven't been there in ages it seems. Looked at their calendar, and there isn't much there. I have noticed that a few of my favorites are playing in Europe right now.

I never got to see a show at the Scotty, but got a few refunds for shows they chose to cancel.

@conrad :
I never got to see a show there either, but for one of the Cat/UAW strikes, the Union used it to distribute strike checks.

Who owns it. I had the opportunity to clean and help with some of this building. Neglect of leaving property sit alone did not help. Shame the cant get the build involved in school project rebuilding. Teaching young adults.
