This one looks fun. No Googling, correct? As a transplant, I probably can only answer 1/3 without guessing.

Your question for #2. Ford is the only former Governor that I know of that is buried in Springdale. So is he #4?

Another beautiful afternoon, so took a walk. In light of question #4, I had to take a photo of the grave marker. Gov. Ford is laid to rest in the Rose Hill section of Springdale Cemetery.

Aaron Schock

"[T]he constant questions over the last six weeks have proven a great distraction that has made it too difficult for me to serve the people of the 18th District with the high standards that they deserve and which I have set for myself," Schock said in a surprise statement on Tuesday. "I have always sought to do what's best for my constituents, and I thank them for the opportunity to serve."

Schock's resignation marks a swift downfall of one of the GOP's most promising young stars and prolific fundraisers. The former state legislator was elected to Congress in 2008 and shot through the ranks of the House GOP, at one point gracing the cover of Men's Health magazine. He was a fresh face in a party eager to update its image.

But as his prominence grew, Schock adopted an expensive lifestyle - staying in luxury hotels, dining at pricey restaurants, flying on private jets. Mounting questions about how he paid for it eventually caught up with him.

Among members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ford's tenure as governor is remembered for the "Illinois Mormon Expulsion," particularly as Ford dealt with civic unrest over the Church's city of Nauvoo, Illinois, and with the death of their leader, Joseph Smith in 1844.

Mayor Jim Maloof, Mayor of Peoria 1985-1997, chairman of the board and founder of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Midwest Affiliate

[New York City] Mayor Koch is being offered the chance to learn firsthand what plays in Peoria - by singing with the Peoria Symphony.

As of yesterday, Koch had not yet risen to the bait.

The invitation came from Jim Maloof, mayor of the Illinois city of 125,000, after BusinessWeek magazine published its second list of "What's In and What's Out."

Declaring 1988 will be "The Year of the Heartland," the magazine said New York City is "out" and Peoria is "in."

Hours after BusinessWeek hit the streets of Peoria, Maloof sent Koch a telegram:

"While you may be disheartened at your city being displaced by ours as the 'in city,' please accept my invitation... to Peoria," he said.

"Here in the Heartland of America, you can see all that this great area has to offer... I'm not taking anything away from New York - one of the greatest cities in the world. But I want people to notice what's going on in Peoria."

Along with the wire went a bouquet of flowers in a vase inscribed "London... Rome... Paris... Peoria."

As an incentive to visit his city, Maloof, who's a singer himself, offered to arrange for Koch to sing solo with the Peoria Symphony. [...]

The spokesman [for Ed Koch] said Koch was too deeply involved in budget meetings to get in a battle with Maloof, no matter how friendly.

"With budget meetings, it's more important how it plays on Pelham Parkway."

Gary's guitar solo in Golden Country off the "Live: You Get What You Play For" is epic. REO Speedwagon is now the greatest tribute band to their former selves. No top 40 anything after Gary left.
