@DennisinPeoria : I74 westbound University exit. IDOT tends to take their time fixing it, but as soon they do it will get smashed into and torn up again. You can bank on that.

This last time the car caught fire.Wonder if IDOT tries to get the owner to pay for repairs. They should.

@kraziebill: There is a special fund that is used to fix damaged guardrails. The fund is called taxpayer. It's a great fund IDOT uses it to fix things that aren't broke like the Bob Micheal Bridge.

@WalterPeck1984 : There is a fund for 'motorist caused repairs' that is tapped for these type of issues. Of course not all are insurance claims because many are hit and run...unreported and thus the taxpayer gets hit with repairs. Like most everything else these days, the repairs and time frames often are subject to availability of materials....get in line

The paper looks good. Now go drive it. Ones who design these ramps and intersections. Yet now put a person in a vehicle and tell them to stay in the lines. Driving most vehicles, you have no problem. Yet throw in the factor of alcohol and lack of sleep, cell phones, combing your hair, putting on eye liner, eating the sandwich. Well what is the problem.

There is no accident proof roadway...you named most of the reasons except a couple key ones....speeding....or driving too fast for conditions. Most ramps and curves have advisory speed limits based on the tightness of the curves ahead. My guess is one of these two was the culprit for most of the incidents

Self driving cars, like a Tesla, would solve the problem.

It could happen.

The premise of the movie is solid, relevant, and plausible. The events that occur in the film have been discussed on occasion in the context of potential terrorist attacks. It was interesting to see the Obama's as executive producers.

They fixed it yesterday and it's nice a shiny again. Fifty bucks says it won't last a week.
