History of Peoria. This should have been a hotel for the ball games. Just like the times throw away.

Sorry to see this piece of history going away. Sad that it couldn't have been saved 40+ years ago. Wonder if there are any plans for the site?

"Baldovin purchased the old Julian Hotel property in July from the Downtown Development Corporation. He said the building was in rough condition, and the best path forward was to tear it down and build new. Baldovin said parts of the former hotel's roof had collapsed, brick was falling off the building and floors had rotted out within the structure.

He did say, however, that they were able to preserve four of the main columns from the Julian Hotel building that was built in 1895. Those columns will be incorporated into the new building."

Just another empty space. Eye sore to parking lot.
I had the building next to it for 5 years. Just hope it can bring something good to Peoria.
