Childer's Eatery - Peoria Restaurants

Haven't been here in several years. Always have loved the eggs benedict. Went for lunch today. Had a burger with sauteed onions, mushrooms, arugula, white truffle oil and brie. Ordered in medium and it was. The oil made it a bit hard to keep together, but the flavors were great. Had the pickled onion rings. They came out really hot and it was hard to pick up the flavors until they cooled off a bit. Other two diners with me had the pork belly Cuban and a Canadian bacon breakfast sandwich which both received thumbs up. Why not 5 stars? Service was polite, but lacking. Checked up on us when we were about done and low on beverages. I will go back again as there are some really awesome things on their menu. If you haven't been in awhile and think they offer standard diner fare, you'd be wrong: a lot of inventive offerings on the menu!

They have come back from the dead. The food is really good now. The price is right. The restaurant is clean.
