Blue Duck BBQ Tavern - Peoria Restaurants

I went to the Blue Duck with a friend for lunch on a Friday at noon. The outdoor seating was all taken, but there were plenty of seats inside. I decided to get the brisket sandwich with fries ($9.95) and a Coke ($1.75). The sandwich was very large, and they didn't skimp on the brisket. It was drizzled with horseradish sauce and came with BBQ sauce on the side. While it was big, it wasn't too big or sloppy to eat like a burger. It was easy to handle, and tasted great. The fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and addictive. For dessert, I decided to try their caramel apple crumble ($3.95). It was a light dessert with cooked apples tossed in caramel sauce and sprinkled with granola. It was tasty and a nice finish to the meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant was more like a bar that happens to serve food also. There were lots of televisions with ESPN on them (showing football, of course, because sports networks routinely ignore baseball even though they play more games and are heading into the post-season, but I digress). It's located in the old Rock Island Depot, better known today as the River Station, occupying the old Cattleman's Club Car area. As mentioned earlier, outdoor seating is available in front of the restaurant, which is a unique dining experience, especially when a train goes by! Service was friendly and attentive. Drinks were refilled regularly and empty dishes were cleared away promptly. I would go back again.

Asian tacos are really good along with all of the sides. The facility is clean and nice. The service can struggle sometimes.
